Slower than feels normal
Card 44 of 52
Put it on the board and read it out. Nothing to prepare.
Before the bell, we will take two minutes to let the pace of the day come down a little.
Rest one hand on the desk and tap one finger in a slow beat, without a sound, at whatever pace your day has had.
Now let each beat come a little later than the one before, until the beat is slower than feels normal.
Stop when you are ready, let your hand rest and notice the pace you will carry out of the door.
That’s the practice.
Listen for Some students may find slowing down irritating at the end of a full day, and they can picture the beat in their mind or simply sit.
The skill of slowing down. Deliberately reducing the pace of your life and busyness.
