Put it on the board and read it out. Nothing to prepare.
Before we go, we will practise giving an appreciation and receiving one without brushing it away.
Think of something small and genuine you appreciate about the person beside you, from something they did today or this week. You can pass, or shake your head, if the pairing does not feel comfortable.
Offer it in one sentence, or use "Thank you for sharing this lesson with me" if you need a starting point.
When you receive one, say "thank you" and let the words land before you swap roles.
Notice privately whether giving or receiving felt less familiar.
That’s the practice.
Listen for Laughter, shrugging or "no worries" may be ways of managing discomfort. Keep the exchange gentle and do not correct anyone publicly.
The skill of non-extracting. Meeting your needs in ways that regenerate rather than deplete, giving back rather than taking away.
