Rainstorm
Card 28 of 52
Put it on the board and read it out. Nothing to prepare.
Let's make the sound of a rainstorm together. It gets loud: if that is hard today, rub your palms only or just watch. Follow my hands and rub your palms as the wind rises.
Click your fingers to add the first drops, and listen as the sound travels around the room.
Move into steady rain by clapping, then drum your palms gently on the desks as the storm reaches its peak.
Follow me back through clapping, clicking and rubbing until the room is quiet again. Notice what we made together without a word.
That’s the practice.
Listen for Watch whether students can follow the pace and each other. Perfect timing is not the aim.
